Well, right off the bat I can tell you this prompt is making my brain hurt…lol
I will tell you now I’m not feeling that this contains no deep thinking or word analogy. However, my brain can not get past this initial thought.
When I see, then think of the word subscribe I think of subscriptions. Subscriptions to magazines and newspapers. Magazines don’t seem to be as pushy as people selling newspaper subscriptions.
Which I get it, they have a job to do and want to make money. Newspapers have a tendency to get pushy when they want you to buy more than you want because you can save money.
If I only want a Paper on Thursday and Sunday, I could care less about saving $1 for Thursday through Sunday.
I guess this is when the tree hugger in me comes out. I tell the person I will just be throwing the others away. Yet, they can’t get past saving a $1. Me on the other hand, can only think about are all those extra trees that it will take to save me a measly $1.
In this digital age I don’t even want Thursday or Sunday when I can subscribe online. This goes for magazines now a days as well.
Hmm, subscriptions could also be of craft kits, book clubs, wine companies, or recipe collections, etc.
Now that my Brain is loosening up, I have a few other thoughts. However, I’m not sure these would technically be called subscriptions. They can be payment plans, so i guess if you stretched it a little they could be called subscriptions.
What the heck am I talking about? Well, death arrangements and cemetery / cremation expenses. These kind of subscriptions are a lot less enjoyable to think about. In addition too that their arrival is definitely not eagerly anticipated.
What does the word subscribe bring to your mind.
