Water can be fresh(per se) or salty, sometimes, really salty. It can be clean, and it can absolutely be dirty. Water, or should I say bodies of water can be deep, shallow, or a combination of both.
Care needs to be taken if you are jumping into a new body of water. For that matter even if familiar with the water you should check the area before jumping or diving in for a refreshing dip. Many people get hurt jumping into unknown or unchecked water, breaking bones or even causing head / back trauma.
Water can also be natural or store bought. If it is natural, caution is needed before drinking any natural water sources incase it is not sanitary. Unsanitary water can make you very sick. No mater how thirsty you think you are don’t chance a drink. In a extremely useless situation and you have not had anything to drink for several days, sometimes you may start to weigh your options..
