Captain Hook’s Cache

Captain Hook was a ruthless pirate who spent his life plundering the riches from ships they came into contact. Unfortunately, the ships had no chance against Captain Hook and his dastardly crew.

In order to not befall the same fate as the ships Hook plundered he never kept the treasures he acquired onboard his ship for long. After he had amassed a small fortune, Captain Hook swiftly headed for a small little known island.

He was very careful on his journey. Captain Hook had his crew watching at all times in all directions to make sure there were no other ships anywhere near his ship.  Captain Hook would  circle the island from a distance until his crew assured him there where no other ships in their vicinity.

Only then would he give the order for a dingy to be lowered to the ocean and loaded which their spoils. As Captain Hook trusted no one, not even his own crew, he was in the dingy with 2 of his crew. He waited and watched the open ocean as his two crewmen rowed them ashore.

Once ashore Captain Hook leads his two henchmen, who were struggling with their heavy burden through the trees. It seemed an eternity until their captain located an acceptable spot for their new cache to be buried. Only when adequately stowed under stone and earth did the three make their way back to the dingy and then the ship.

No cache on the island was buried in the same area. After landing at the island Captain Hook, unknown by his crew, would lead them in circles until he was sure he had confused them. In addition he never had the same 2 crewmen take him too the island.

It is a mystery if Captain Hook ever retrieved any of his caches. To this day people enjoy metal detecting different areas on islands. In addition to having to luck into finding Captain Hook’s secret caches, would be treasure hunters needed  to first know if they were on the correct island
