Time To Write: Random Words 17 by Rachel Poli—Possibility, Delicate, & Seat

The Bakery on 6th & Main

Early one morning my husband and I were strolling around downtown Winter Haven. Our downtown area is quaint and it has many cute shops.

There is the definite possibility that the city intentionally attempted to make the area pleasant and appealing to passerby’s. One nice thing, is the area is not too large. This makes it easy to park your car amid walk the area without having to go a great distance to get back to your car.

Winter Haven made the area quiet and welcoming. They planted trees and flowers. The planners’ also had the foresight to place benches at randomly convenient places. Some of the little eateries and shops even took it upon themselves to placed tables and chairs outdoors.

We strolled along, stopping and looking through a few shops along the way. At one point we came upon a little sandwich shop with an outside area. The day was pleasant, so my husband and I took a seat at one of the outside tables.

As we started to check out the menu we glanced at some customers near us and saw how delicate their deserts seemed. Our mouths’ were watering simply from the looks of their deserts. Our mouths all of a sudden were salivating over desert, lunch all but forgotten.

As we saw a waitress head our way my husband and I looked at each other. The waitress looked towards me and I decided I was just going to have a sweet snack as I ordered Baclava and a Coke. She next glanced at my husband who was trying not to snicker as he ordered the same with a Diet Coke.

Let me just say, the sweet snacks we had that day can not be equaled by anywhere we’ve eaten before or since, We made our way back to our car and then headed for home.
