Inspiration Week(4/17/2020) Window View(4/20/2020) by Creative Talents Unleashed

Staring Out My Window

Here I am, it’s Monday. The dreaded day of the week. Although right now during COVID 19 time I’m not sure one day is too much different from another.

Suddenly things at my bird feeder get quiet. Usually this doesn’t happen unless it is the middle part of the day or durning bad weather. I pause to look out the window. It was not late enough in the day to be birdie nap time.

Just as I raised my head to see what was going on outside I hear the thunder roll. Yup, the birds are hunkering down for the bad weather that is blowing in. Man, I didn’t realize how low the light had gotten in my living room.

I have a tendency to get lost in my blog activities. Especially when I am answering comments left on my posts, returning  other bloggers’ emails, and creating material in response to prompts I have seen.

Outside it looks like daylight savings time. That is if I didn’t know better. However, I know the long days of summer came about recently.

Every so often a gust of wind sweeps through my yard. It probably would not seem so impressive if I didn’t have so many leafy plants about. In addition to my plants I have a 4 foot-Ish windmill that I can see outside the window I am next too.

I notice every time things quiet down a little the bird’s hurry in for a quick fix. I heard a Blue Jay and Red Bellied Woodpecker call. They followed their calls up with a hit and runs on one of the hanging feeders.

The bird’s are kind of lucky here.  I have two feeders under an awning that is over the window that I am sitting next to. I think they appreciate this sometimes as they get to eat a little longer in bad weather and a reprieve from there rain for a little while.

Right now it as if the world is standing still. You would never know that a few minutes ago the wind was ruthlessly whipping the plants back and forth and that the thunder vibrated the window panes.

According to the news the rain is supposed to start in about half hour. We will see how accurate they are today. From the way it looks outside I’m surprised that it has managed to hold off this long.

Of course, It could look like this all day and not rain a drop. From the way it looks, I feel like I could walk outside and get smacked in the face with humidity. I live in Florida. This time of year it’s kind of a toss up what you will be met with when you opened your door.

The rain just started hitting the awning. If I needed any other proof that rain was falling I need look out my window. I have 3 bird baths in various spots that I can see from my usual work space. I see drops landing heavily in the bird baths. I guess the birds don’t have to worry about taking baths today.

It is pouring now. Everything is drenched outside. I am sure the plants are going to be loving the rain. Somehow rain always causes more growth spurts than when I water them.

Time to turn on a light. Hopefully the sound of the rain and thunder doesn’t send me napping.

I ❤️ love to hear your thoughts so feel free leave a comment.

  1. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something informative to read?

    • Thanks. I have only posted like 3 videos when I needed to show how one of my handmade cards worked incase someone was interested in purchasing them. Otherwise I would much rather write. Making a video would be my absolute last choice. Have a nice rest of the week. I often. I usually respond to several writing or haiku prompts everyday. I look and think about writing to the inspiration site or others. Somehow there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day, before I know it time has flown.
