FWOC with Fandango—Education by Fandango

Education

Luckily My kids’ are out of the education system years before now. I often wonder what is going to happen to the kids that are missing so much of their education during this unexpected, forced, journey.

I know they have the ability for online education and some parent’s area doing home education. Both of these things are great. However, I can’t help thinking how long it was before either of these were put into action.

When you think about how much of their education a child loses over their summer break, how are they going to do after all of this.

First, they had several weeks to a couple months before online or home schooling starts taking place. Secondly, you have the amount of time it takes the kids’ / teachers’ /  parents’ to get into the flow of the new teaching process.

As if all of the above isn’t enough, the education system can’t even decide how to make a fair grading system. So, do the kids’ get grades? If not, how are they going to feel about all the work they have been doing since the new procedures began.

I absolutely do NOT think student should be give an “A”.

    • Exactly. I know what my mind tells me should happen, but I don’t want to say it out loud. I honestly think students, when the next school period starts hopefully normal physical school, but even if it is online, they should start the same grade year they began in August of 2019. However, I think think this will affect some kids mentally in a negative way….sigh…I’m so glad I don’t have to personally deal with this situation. Have a nice week.

    • Yes, I believe your right. That seems like a better way to go. Only problem is there is not a really good way to tell if the child has acquired the new skills needed to advance. Seems like a lose / lose situation.
