Crafter Playing With Resin

I saw something on using resin on different types of flowers. Unfortunately,, I can’t remember where I saw it So, let me know if it was you so I can give you credit.

There are still several things I have to work on, but I am waiting on additional supplies. I didn’t expect to have so much fun. I don’t know why I’m finding this fun, but I am.

I can tell you this stuff is stickier than corn syrup. However, I guess it is the child in me, but I can’t do anything without making a mess.

It doesn’t matter how much I think I have set up my area, something always happens.

By the way, this stuff does not come out of clothes or carpet(aka porous materiel)

I was surprised to find out that thicker pieces set and dry faster than thinner pieces.

Sometimes pieces have soft spots. I have to go re-read the directions, because I can’t remember why or how to fix it. As soon as I figure it out I will update this post.

As you can see if the first photo you will see there is a leaf sticking out of the one with the rose bud, but I didn’t cut it off as I liked the way it looked.

The leaf was coated with resin so I didn’t have to worry about it. This is one I coated without drying the flower. The part in the resin changed to a weird color, but the bud was perfect so this was like a catch 22.

The ones that seemed to keep their color the best were the ones that were dried before coating with the resin.

As far as the couple that had bubbles on the inside I think if I had made them a little thicker I could have avoided them.

There are a few with smudgy on top, that is because the crafter stuck her finger on it before it was dry totally.

Also, the square gem is supposed to be light green and the pink looks more clear. The resin obviously changes colors of non living or previously living things as well.

So, basically each resin coated item is an individual experiment. So, test one item first before you cover them all.

I ❤️ love to hear your thoughts so Please feel free leave a comment, opinion, or feedback.
