Excited But Unsure….

My husband has been working super hard on a room that has been empty since my son’s moved out.

He had asked me many times if I wanted to move my craft room to that room. I always said no. Once day I discovered that I was being over run by my beloved crafting items. So, one day I told him that I decided I wanted to move into that slightly larger room.

As soon as I mentioned that I wanted to move rooms he perked up and started working. He is so sweet!

He could have cared less about the state of the empty room until I said I wanted to move my craft room.

Unfortunately a broken pipe issue about 5 years ago caused the insurance company in to bring in people to test for water damage. In that particular room they ripped off one and a half walls of the sheet rock, all the trim and took out the carpent.

He now has new sheet rock up and everything patched and sanded and today he is going to start painting.

Since my son had the room painted a deep red we can’t just put the new paint directly over that red. We first have to apply a grey primer to everything….sigh I have a new ceiling fan he is going to put up.

This room has 2 windows so I will have even more natural light. I have a round table and chairs that my parents bought me for my birthday a couple of years ago. The table will be in the middle of the room. I can’t wait for my Mother to be able to come over and be in my craft room with me and putter around.

The major thing is I am trying to figure out how to put things in the way that I want them. I know I am going to have separate little sections for specific things. For instance I am going to have my printers lined up together, my paper together, my sewing machine will be moved into this room for easier access, and that kinda of thing.

I am just having a hard time figuring out how I am going to be putting all my stamps and dies in the room. I like having them all in one area not far from me for easy access.

My husband is going to put shelves and such in for me, but I have to decide how I want them…..sigh This is all making my head hurt. Trying to make things organized, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I also want to still be able to easily move about the room to do things.

Hence my excitement, but uncertainty……ugh I can’t wait.

The room my craft room is in now will be the next room he works on as it will be empty for the most part. We know what color we are painting it and we already have the floor he is going to use.

Once it is ready we(he) will take stuff out of the room that is inaccessible room so I can turn it into a guest room once the painting and flooring is done. I’m a little excited about that as well.

So, off to mind bending I go….lol
