Confused Rooster???

About 4 days ago I was awake at 5a.m. This is not really an unusual time for me to be awake. Suddenly I realized I was hearing a rooster crow.

I laughed to myself thinking someone had gotten a rooster for Christmas. A kind of strange gift, but hey to each their own…right??

I looked out the window and it was totally dark outside, not an ounce of light on the horizon. Hmmmm. I knew roosters crowed early, but I was surprised there was no light anywhere to be seen.

This rooster crowed constantly until the sun was up and even until it had been up for an hour. I thought maybe the rooster did not understand the time change….lol Yea, I know dumb thought.

Funny thing is yesterday my husband had apparently let the dog out around 5 in the morning and commented to me later how he heard the rooster. He then went on to say exactly what I noticed that there was no light to be seen.

I am betting the neighbors of this roster owner are pretty thrilled.. Especially since we are at least a street away and can hear it quite clearly.
