Jus Jo Jan The 14th—Neighbor

Jus Jo Jan The 14th—Neighbor by Linda G. Hill

The People Next Door

The house next door had been sitting vacant for several years before I unexpectedly saw signs of life. I happened to be sitting on my porch one morning when I suddenly heard a door slam followed by the yell of “I said, I’m not hungry”. I then observed a teenager stomping up the street to where I knew a bus stop was located.

With these sights and sounds I was taken back in time when my kid’s were teenagers. I shook my head remembering what a difficult time this seemed to be. Now they are grown and tempers have relaxed.

I then say a woman with a briefcase in her hand get into a car and drive slowly off. Well, it is nice to see signs of life in the the little house that was empty for so long. Hopefully the new neighbors will be friendly.
