A Simple Trip To The Eye Doctor….
Well, it only took me 6 months to get my husband and I an appointment. Jez, what a joke. Since I just saw the dentist yesterday I was super excited to get an eye exam.
Right off the bat we saw a sign saying the cloth masks my husband and I walked in with were not allowed. We had to put on one of those paper things.
I had already decided ahead of time that I was not doing the eye drop drill this time. I was not up to the migraine that always followed.
I really hope I have a prescription that is correct. It is really jokingly difficult to tell if #1 or #2 is better or worse or if #3 or #4 is better when the bleeping lenses keep fogging up.
I kid you not, the doc must have wiped the lens of fog more than 20 times. She finally told me I could pull my mask down🥴.<thank heavens>
After thanking her I said I would love to walk out of her office with a precscription that I could actually see out of. We were finally cooking with gas and moving right along.
Then we get to the spot where she shined that intensely bright rectangle directly into each eye. I’ms sitting there vegging as the spotlight was switched from one eye to the other.
I’m not sure, but my mouth might have fallen open very unladylike when she calmly says “Oh you’ve got a cataract started in your right eye”. WHAAAATTTTT?????😲 I barely had time to think before she says, “Oh, you have one starting in your left eye too”. Double 😲😲WHHHAAAATTT???
She says no need to worry they are just baby cataracts(baby cataracts?? Is that a medical term?) right now. I’m thinking, jez can I not catch a break with medical junk!!!
Yea yea ok I don’t need to do anything about it nowwwwwww. I am one month from turning 50 years old. Yes, I am having issues with this number.
Yea I know age is more than a number. Never did I think I would have problems when the age number I was turning.<I was wrong!>
So, a few minutes later my husband walked out and sat down next to me. He is 6 years older than me.. Guess what? He is NOT getting cataracts!!!!
When I was a wee lass of 3 and 4 years old I had one operation on one eye and two on the other eye.
Now if you’d had me pick two things I would not want to have surgery on they are my EYES and my BACk!! Of course as many of you know my back had been limiting me immensely over the last 3-4 years.
If you were to ask me what I thought I would find out after seeing the eye doctor, cataracts would never have even passed though my brain neurons.
There you have it. My latest medical drama.<curtsies>
