Question Of The Day
Question of the Day: “Why does teaching feel like drowning?”
First, let me say I am in no way a degree carrying teaching professional.
However, I have kids, albeit grown. So, I s’pose in a way this makes me a teaching non degree carrying professional.
In their school years or simply trying to pass on knowledge I can totally understand the feeling of downing in these situations.
Every child learns differently. Then you have the kid that just likes to be difficult. Unfortunately there are also those who truly have a difficult time.
When trying to pass on knowledge or teach you start with the method that seems most logical to you(the teacher). When these doesn’t seem to pass on the knowledge the teacher try’s another method.
You star gasping for breath when you have tried several different tactics and you’re starting to scrap the bottom of the barrel.
Once this happens and the knowledge is still not being grasped breathing starts to become difficult. The longer it takes the more it feels like the water is creeping up over your head. Despite this feeling of drowning, giving up is not an option.
