Not Costumes Just Practical
Well, unfortunately this is probably not going to be humorous as I lean towards when I write. I have never dressed my pets up.Whoa, hold on just had a flashback smack me upside the head.
When I was a teen we had a small poodle name Gladys. Sometimes when I was playing with her I would dress her in one of my old baby dresses. I didn’t do it often and I don’t even have any photos of her dressed this way as far as I known. However, that is the only time I have “dressed up” a pet.
Now as you see above my late beloved Skeeter was a whooping 8lbs. When it got cold he would shover all the time. I hated for him to be cold. Now in this instance he did not mind wearing the little shirts we put him in. I knew he didn’t hate them as when he was cold I would pull out his shirt or sweater and he would come running.
As he got older he would still be cold, but he did not want to wear them clothing anymore so we stopped putting them on him. He would go out and run back to whoever had the blanket and would dive under.
I ❤️ love to hear your thoughts so please feel free to leave a comment , opinion, or feedback.

No, never had the type of dogs that needed clothing. I had a standard Goldendoodle I thought was cold after a short grooming, and he had a beautiful turtleneck. He ate it off himself. My daughter’s boyfriend has an Italian greyhound and she must wear clothes when the temperature is barely cool.

Lol well I guess that is one way to let you know he didn’t like it.

When I was little, yes, I thought it was great fun to “dress up” our pets. 🙂

My dog Brody is 48 lbs and he hates being cold. We call him Twinkle Toes because he hates walking outside when the ground is frozen. He likes to wear sweatshirts. My kids, especially my daughter, dressed up all the dogs. They all had nail polish and jewelry. I have a picture somewhere of one of my shephards with shorts on and a back pack! Hahaha! Thanks for participating. Little Skeeter was a cute little guy!

I really can’t justify putting clothes on an animal unless they need them. We had a couple of Devon Rexes that really don’t have much fur, and they were always snuggling with one of us or climbing under the covers when we were in bed. Another blogger has a dog that gets upset during thunderstorms and when they’re shooting off fireworks, so she puts her dog in a Thundershirt, which makes the dog feel more secure. But that’s about it.

I was wondering if those Thunder shirts were legit.
