Big Heartbreak That Took So Little Time!
It happened 9 days ago, the day after my 50th birthday. I can’t believe I made such a stupid mistake. I have had birds on and off since something like the 3rd grade.
My dog had to go out and I didn’t want to have to shut Luna(the bird)in her sleep box, I stupidly told myself “I’ll just open the screen door just wide enough for the dog, everything should be ok”.
The screen door was open so little my dog, Tank, unhappily squeezed out.
In the blink of an eye the bird was out a breeze caught her and she was gone. I thought I was going to puke.
I immediately started calling for her, but she really only chattered when was about to fall asleep. As my Husband & I called for her & played recordings I had made of her.
I can’t remember the last time our neighborhood was so damn loud. I wanted to scream “QUIET!”
While he checked with neighbors. I put a lost pet notice out on our Ring App Neighborhood thing and also on the Next Door neighborhood App.
We are so heartbroken and the house so quite. I can count on one finger how many times our TV has been so quiet and my husband has not watched videos on his lap top. Instead he chose to pick up dog doo and my posts were and are way down.
I just couldn’t bear to think about the tragedy long enough to post or talk about it.
