Fandango’s Provocative Question #114 by Five Dot Oh
Question
Do you think that there is any chance that the U.S. Congress will ever take decisive, bipartisan action to pass and enact nationwide common sense gun laws to try and stem the tide of mass shootings, or is the best that the American Congress will ever do is to send thoughts and prayers to the families of loved ones killed in mass shooting incidents?
Honestly I don’t think the U.S. Congress will accomplish anything realistically substantial let alone anything bipartisan.
I think we need to have a vote and clear out both houses and get a new group. Hopefully a group actually working for the people in conjunction with a real President(my opinion…a difference of option is fine, but no nasty notes please)
We also need term limits!
I ❤️ love to hear your thoughts so please feel free to leave a comment , opinion, or feedback.

To the first question, no. Not really. Setting aside the NRA and other lobbying groups, to really chance gun laws in this country, you have to repeal the second amendment. Good luck.
There are enough guns in circulation/private hands NOW so that any legislation will take another 20 years to have an effect.
Second, gun laws only apply to law-abiding gun owners. Anyone who chooses not to abide by the law, or find loopholes in the law (and there’s always loopholes), will not be affected by it.
Third, term limits are good… they also don’t work as well as you think. It limits permanent politicians, but makes the parties stronger, since they’re the only consistent force, and it invites lock-step thinking.
Thanks for asking the question!

Well, first I agree with what you have said and no term limits will not work ideally they will most likely replace old trash with new trash.
I really cannot see how any gun laws are going to be able to be effective or even implantable.
This is Fandango’s question not mine, just giving credit where credit is due…
