Cards · Christmas · Just Life

Totally the opposite of my last post, Short& Sweet. This one will most like be long due tothe absence of a post or too.

Uh oh, my last post never published….arghhhh So this post is a total opposite of my post after my next post. Jez, what a pain.

Now this card I made years ago and came across when I was digging through my stuff.
Here is how that card gives a lil Christmas card fun. Sorry about the pic not being the greatest, but hard to take while using one hand.

Not sure why, but this one is more appealing to me this year more than years past. However, I’ve pretty much decided I’ve made so many trial cards that I will most likely be mailing out an assortment this year.

Of course, ya never know what happens until the mail hits the box…lol.

Ok, I was so excitedly waiting to receive this background…..candy canes. It’s also one of those times things don’t go as anticipated!

So, this was yesterday’s card that I did not have time to post.

I kept trying to do a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed in one of her recent videos, frustration got the best of me. She was using Gina K ink and embossing it somehow before the ink dried. I can’t remember if she was using clear or some Ranger frosted type.

That part really isn’t important, I tried both and every time I tried only 1/2-1/3 would get embossed….grrrrr. Hence this somewhat rough looking candy cane card about.

First, you can’t really tell the card is built on a candy cane background, that I was so eagerly waiting to show up in my mailbox.  Second, I wanted the candy cane raised and I chose the incorrect foam adhesive to have this occur.  Of course, by the time I realized my OOPS! It was too late. so, I trudged ahead…..

I don’t despise the card, but it’s disappointing to me in my head.  Which is almost worse.

First, I absolutely love snow people!! However, although my card is different as I have different craft choices than others. I did get the snow person idea from 2 different sample cards I saw & loved at both &

Never fear we are moving on to today’s card, meaning today’s post is coming to an end.

This time, even with its imperfections I LOVE this card! There is just one problem…..this is a very labor intensive card.

Stamping & die cutting all the lil pieces, coloring, creating the background, and the sentiment decided to force me to redo it several times.

So, while I’d like to make multiples of this card, I cannot make myself say I’ll make more. I’m trying to consider just one more…lol As always ya never know what will happen.

Try #2 could become a #1. Out of the 2 that are similar, for sure.

The 1st version of the tree card I was afraid it was too busy. I’m happier with this one, but this tree die is awful to cut. When I add that detailed card tissue it makes everything slippery…grrrr So, we will see how many of these come to life.(figuratively speaking, of course)

Yes, I know seems like same amount of items as the previous card, but looks less busy too me.

Now with this card I was having issues with the sentiment color. I couldn’t use white or red either. So, I thought gold…nope. So I used green and had a fairy hold each end to hopefully call attention to it. Hubby says dothey job and he gives the card a “go”.

Sick of Being Sick…BLAH Let’s Try Some Journal Time!

Keep in mind I am blog challenged…lol Jez for that matter I’m challenged on the computer in general. However, the more I look at these journal pages they look a lil better each time. Especially the bright colors.

Hey, I can’t be the only Blog challenged person with the desire to be a great Blogger. Hopefully someday I will be able to tackle that mountain.

What I can say is no matter how much and many times I cut a piece of paper wrong I keep trying…lol that can’t be the definition of crazy because I mess up a different way each time.

Couldn’t See the Products for the Projects

Firt let me say DUH!!! I can’t even tell you why I’m so slow to notice. Well, now that I  know I’m going to get better at listing the supplies that I’ve been using.

Any link I include for thr products I’ve used will not be an afflait link (unless specifically noted).  I’m not real good at listing multiple links at the same time, so the links I include will most likely link to where I purchased my product. However, I will try to include the names of other places you can find the products as well.

Today was a kind of errand day….yeaaaa. None the less her is my current face.

All in all I don’t have many nit picks on this practice chick…insane right…lol

Prisma Premier Water Soluble Colored Pencils (SSS)

I have been using Dylusion’s 8 x 8 cream journal (SSS )for all of the posts I’ve listed with my practice faces.

Love Working on Faces

First, my 3rd and last face from yesterday was bugging me. I didn’t like having reverted to sparse after moving on to creating a first face with hair. So, my first order of business was to update my previous posts last face. I realized yesterday but was too lazy to inset into yesterday’s post, but she looks kinda sad……definitely not purposely done.

I was feeling like I was kinda on aa face roll…lol So, here are the last 2 from today…as of right this minute. Unfortunately, as you can see I have some unnoticed misalignment on blonde. I bet you can’t guess how many times I erased and redrew the right side of her face and not digging blonde in general I dunno kinda looks like you are seeing blonde through water….hmm

No worries…..pencils, colored pencils and a journal….practice ahead—->

No More lil’ Egg Heads….Lesson 2

For some reason today I just decided to take the leap to lesson 2. I know it’s been awhile since I started working on the little egg heads as part of lesson 1. Incase anyone has a memory like mine the online class I’m working on is Beautiful Faces by Jane Davenport.

Here’s my first attempt at practicing larger features. I was rather happy with how she turned out, surprise…surprise.img_1347

For my second try on paper I decided to try and give her a bit more hair.  Not too bad, but she needs a little surgery on her right eye…lol Ahhhh, it is fine she’s young yet….lol

My last test drive for the night got the sparse hair, but in a return I gave her a touch of color. Thought this one ended up better than expected and that is always nice to see!!

Hope this post wasn’t too boring. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

My Name is Jennifer & I…

My name is Jennifer. (Holding up right hand ✋️) I am hopelessly addicted to art & craft supplies!! Don’t get me wrong I LOVE❣️) the hands on working in journals and creating cards. No matter what if I’m not multi colored with splats of paint & mediums all over me I haven’t been my craft room.

When I say addicted I  don’t mean I just have a few stamps, rulers, markers, and a few pads of paper. I have a lot of paper which wouldn’t be too bad if I used it. I am a paper hoarder…I have some pieces of paper that are so beautiful  that I can’t bear to use….lol Absurd I know, but it’s the truth. I have had to apply very strict purcase rules to my art / crafting shopping or window Shopping. One thing that makes me weak is all the super neat stuff the companies are always creating!!!

So, you might be wondering why I’m blogging this today. Well, I have been forcing myself to not open any email that does not look like it is from family or a bill. Basicly I don’t open anything that doesn’t look legit.

I broke my rule…well actually I should say I’m going to brreak my rule.  I’m waiting to catch the Lawn Fawn mail box …that is a definite awaiting purchase. I unconsciously start flipping through contraband(lol) emails. Ohh man!! I couldn’t see and read enough I was beginning to create shopping carts st 2 or more companies.
