It amazes me how my UPS & FED X always come after 4:30p.m. I’m wondering who the heck gets their deliveries early?? It drives me crazy!
Today my replacement cell came as expected. I parked myself in my living room so that I would not miss the delivery. After a day of boredom UPS finally screeched to a halt in front of my house. I didn’t even here him honk. Luckily my alarm system(dogs, Tank & Skeeter) went off. I just about jumped out of my skin as I was engrossed in Law & Order SUV.
As I walked to get my box I remember thinking I can’t believe they came early today. Then my husband called to let me know he was on his way home from work. Thinking it was nice that he was getting out a little early. I glanced at the time as I hung up the phone and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that it was 5:10p.m….Gez!
After 3 hours I do believe I am back on the cell waves apps and all. Woohoo, my cell phone is my 3rd arm. Amazingly used / missed more than my son and husband…lol
The day starts uneventful. I’m puttering through my day little bit here n little bit there. Not doing anything very noteworthy.
Then just about the time I’m able to sneak in a little crafting….dum… dum….my day takes a change in direction. I had to make a quick potty run before craft time. As I was washing my hands and turn to dry my hands IT happened!!
The pocket on my shorts get snagged on something, no biggie there. Then I heard a pladunk…Mentally I’m thinking what the??? Out of the corner of my eye I see the toilet…..You read correctly! THE TOILET!! Any other time the top would be closed. BUT NOOOO NOT THIS TIME!! IT WAS OPEN!!
I did a brain pause ewww toilet water…then reached my hand in and snatched my phone out. I hurry and rinse it off, it stays on for a little bit, then goes to the big cell phone dump in the sky.
All I could think of was that stupid contact commercial. The one talking about being careful to not run out of contacts. As the camera pans over to show the ladies last contact landing in the toilet water. Followed by showing the lady’s arm slowly, cringingly reaching toward where the contact had fallen.
Luckily I pay for the insurance. So, $170 and a short online form later and they will overnight me a(most likely a refurbished) phone. Unfortunately I’m about 6 months away from being able to get a new model.
Have you had one of those days where no matter how hard you try it is impossible to stay awake? It feels like your eyelids weigh like 100 pounds. Every time you shake yourself back to conscientiousness your eyelids just start sinking again.
Then you just can’t resist. Next thing you know your groggily sequent at the time. You know time has passed but no idea how much. Even after the Crash and burn your eye lids still don’t want to stay open.
There is nothing worse than wanting to craft but not having enough energy to hold your head up.
Crossing my fingers I will be able to stumble to my desk and throw some paper n stuff together.
Did I get to play with crafty stuff today? NO!! Why you ask? Have you ever tried to change from car insurance company to another??
I changed my husband’s and my car insurance from State Farm to Esurance.
We’ve had State Farm for probably 10 years, but Esurance was finally able to save us money. This was such an easy process fill out info show proof of previous insurance, pay and Ta Da!! DONE.
NEXTTTTTTT my 17 year old son and his father decided Direct General was cheaper for him. So, my husband(son’s step-Dad) is the primary driver and my son is the part-time driver. Keep in mind I started the switching process at the exact same time. We filled out the info…check, I pay…check then we are instructed to fax proof of ABS brakes and proof of prior
insurance.(sounds easy right) the next day I faxed said info and then heard nothing. So, I emailed asking if the had all the info that they needed. Two-three days later I get an email stating that yes, they had received everything. La la la a week later I get a letter saying they are raising the insurance $148 because I did not show proof of prior insurance…??? What? So, once again I send info through email this time a lady says she will call us back in20 minutes. 1 1/2 hours later my husband calls for the person were working with had gone home. HUH??!! Ok restart have to re-email prior insurance info, done promptly.
This person says I’m sorry but this is not the right paper. Today I call State Farm and try to obtain the proper info. Well this looks right but we can’t fix it tonight you will have to call back tomorrow!! SERIOUSLY?? Oh and in the mail today I get a thing telling me they need and additional $97.!!! WHAT!! So, I s’pose we will see what happens tomorrow . Oh yea the first payment is due the 13th.ARGHHHHH
Its amazing and I won’t believe it’s fixed until the bill arrives. A person from Direct General actually called a little bit ago. She called to tell my husband that everything seemed to be resolved. She gave him the new corrected payment amount. Knock on wood we will see what happens in four days when the payment is due.
Isn’t it amazing how you can have a mental list of everything you’re going to get done the next day. The sun
sets, the sun rises and where is that to do list?
Things get started well enough. The first load of laundry is getting tossed in the washer….check. Vacuum(hubby helped)…check. Slowly dragged the swiffer over the floor…..check. I was dripping sweat like I had run a marathon(as if I could do such a thing…ha) I sat down to rest, next thing I knew two hours had passed and I had a massive crick in my neck.
I s’pose if there is a bright side I reckon it’d be some of the list done is better than none of the list done….Right?
I have been feigning to plant myself in my craft studio and bury myself in craft supplies. Hopefully with any luck I will be able to accomplish this seemingly difficult task tomorrow afternoon.
To all you crafters out there cut, paste, glue, fold, and glitter until the sun. Goes down!!
Lol…of course I’m just kidding….kinda. I had to pay bills and work on laundry today. Now I’m not sure about you, but that is not how I want to spend my day.lol Isn’t it terrible when real life intrudes into craft time??!
As a reward I have deemed it McD’s dinner night. Yummy. So, in between munching on french fries I am going to be in my craft studio working on a craft plan. Of course I will have to handle things with the greatest of care.
Why? You ask. Can you imagine what a tragedy it would be if I got a greasy fry fingerprint on a beautiful piece of paper??!! Or!! What if a big blob of tartar Sauce plopped onto my colorfully inked background!!
Ooooo now be honest….y’all know exactly Where I’m coming from. You know it’s true…funny…but true…haha
Hindsight being what it is the problem actually started to rear its ugly head Friday the 22nd. My husband came home from work and as he entered he commented “Babe do you realize how hot it is in here… It’s 86 degrees. After resetting this, that, and whatever the a/c finally kicked on.
So, being the paranoid person I am I began constantly making sure the a/c was kicking on and maintaining the correct temp. During the day we keep the a/c at 78 degrees. Things were moving align uneventful. Then….Monday the 25th comes along. Granted I know it was working earlier by the time hubby got home it had obviously quit. By some kind of unbelievable miracle the a/c place actually came by around 5:30ish.. However, we were told that the compressor had gone to the a/c scrap yard in the sky. Of course, this was followed by ….but the place we order closes at 4pm.(feeling faint at my possibilities). Which means 2-3 days no a/c.
My brain knew it was going to be hot… and hot & muggy. I had not even imagined how so insanely this was actually going to be. Late Wednesday morning the a/c people called to tell me they’d be by after noon-pm. At 4pm….yes 4pm still no a/c sightings my dogs and I with every fan window and door open were melting in a 90 degree house. Yes, I said 90 degree.
Finally! At a little past 4 the a/c guy pulled into the driveway. My whole body has never been so relieved to see a repair person. My head is dancing and singing bout having a working a/c in a lil bit. I hear my husband come in from outside talking to the dude. As he walks into the room I was in he said it was going to take approximately 4 hour to switch it out. I was stunned and just wanted to scream and cry. I didn’t, but I had really reached my overheated not sleeping tolerance.
the good news…is shortly after 8 pm cold air was felt coming out of the vents. Again I wanted to cry. Of course this time for a totally different reason. It took the air from that time(shortly after 8) until midnight to get the house down to normal.
i absolutely cannot express how much softer my bed felt last night compared to the two previous nights……WHEW!!!!!
